about us
Why Art+Logic is Different
For more than three decades, clients have come to us after hearing the same thing elsewhere:
Those are exactly the problems we’re drawn to.
Since 1991, Art+Logic has specialized in designing and developing custom software and hardware solutions for organizations whose needs don’t fit neatly into off-the-shelf tools. We thrive in the space where complexity, creativity, and real-world constraints intersect.
Our team is made up of thoroughly vetted designers, developers, testers, and engineers—experts who care deeply about their craft. We don’t rely on anonymous outsourcing or disconnected vendors. Every solution we build is created by our integrated project teams, working closely and transparently with our clients.
From early concept through long-term growth, we use proven development methodologies to guide projects with intention and care. We’re known for building systems that are reliable, maintainable, and designed to last—not just launch.
Above all, we believe in doing the work honestly and ethically. Our success has always been tied to our clients’ success, and many of our partnerships span years—even decades. That’s not an accident. It’s the result of trust, clarity, and a shared commitment to building software the right way.
our history
How it Started
Art+Logic was founded in 1991 by Tom Bajoras, Paul Hershenson, and Justin Souter, with a simple but powerful belief: that well-crafted code, paired with strong client relationships, could form the foundation of a lasting software company.
The firm began by developing premium desktop applications and quickly found itself operating at full capacity—driven entirely by word-of-mouth referrals. Though the founders initially envisioned Art+Logic as a boutique consultancy, growing demand led to a pivotal decision in 1994: rather than turning work away, they chose to grow the team.
That same year, a film sound-editing system developed by Art+Logic received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement, an early signal of the company’s technical depth and creative reach.
As the company expanded, so did its expertise. In 1995, device driver development was added to the service mix. In 1996, Art+Logic entered the world of embedded internet development, building a groundbreaking web-based device management system—years ahead of its time. The embedded systems group formally launched with its first dedicated project in 2000.
Art+Logic incorporated in 1997 and experienced rapid growth, averaging 57% annual revenue growth through 2000. While the company was an early pioneer of telecommuting, by 1999 it established offices in Glendale, California to support executive and administrative functions. By March 2001, Art+Logic employed forty engineers distributed across seventeen U.S. states and Canada—foreshadowing the globally distributed model that would later become its strength.
These early years set the tone for what Art+Logic would become: adaptable, technically rigorous, and built to last.
